How the regulated market works
In Ontario, online gambling has operated within a regulated market from April 4, 2022 onward. Two bodies take part, each with a different job. iGaming Ontario has the role of conducting and managing it. Regulation falls to the Ontario body known as AGCO (Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario).
The legal age in Ontario is 19, online and in land-based casinos alike. To get into Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto in Etobicoke, you show an original government-issued photo ID and a second one as backup. Photos or photocopies of ID are not accepted. The operator's own code of conduct is clear: We ID under 30. Online, the same age of 19 applies on every regulated site.
Checking a site
Head to igamingontario.ca and search for the site by its name. That is where iGaming Ontario keeps its list of the regulated online gambling sites. A site missing from the list falls outside Ontario's regulated market. Check the exact address, not just the brand name. That holds however polished the site looks.
OLG.ca is where the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation, an agency belonging to the province, keeps its website. A self-exclusion through BetGuard covers it too. When a page presents itself as the provincial site, compare its address with OLG.ca.
Stepping away
With BetGuard (betguard.ca), you can block yourself from all of the regulated gambling sites in Ontario, including OLG.ca. Since May 14, 2026, it has been run by iGaming Ontario. Pick a length of 5 years, 1 year or 6 months, or set a custom term. It stops short of land-based casinos, though.
OLG's My PlayBreak covers land-based play: it bars you from Ontario casinos for 1 to 5 years, or 3 or 6 months. To arrange it, speak with on-site staff, go to a PlaySmart Centre, or dial 1-800-387-0098 for the OLG Support Centre. The term cannot be cancelled early. ConnexOntario offers free, confidential help 24/7: call 1-866-531-2600, text CONNEX to 247247, or chat at connexontario.ca.
About paid links
Nothing here is a casino: this independent guide accepts no wagers and opens no accounts. Ad labels mark the paid links, and you meet them only on the home page: in the menu, just past the opening screen and near the foot. All three send you to one online casino partner, and a commission comes back to this guide. Who that partner is may change. This page carries no paid link.
