What is on the floor
On the floor you'll find 500 slots and electronic table games. You won't find live table games, a poker room or a hotel. The one restaurant, the Getaway Restaurant, is for guests 19+. The slots opened in 2006 as OLG Slots at Ajax Downs and took the name Casino Ajax in 2018.
Next door, Ajax Downs runs quarter-horse racing. Picov Downs Inc. owns and operates the track.
From Toronto, the trip gets you a smaller, slots-only room with racing beside it. Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto, inside the city at Woodbine in Etobicoke, has 164 table games, a 24/7 poker room and a 400-room hotel. Both take the Great Canadian Rewards card.
Getting there from Toronto
Casino Ajax has no Casino Shuttle service. Without a car, you take Durham Region Transit. The nearest scheduled stops are Kingston Westbound @ Alexanders Crossing and Kingston Eastbound @ Alexanders Crossing, on Kingston Road. PULSE 900 serves them, and so does overnight route N1. Bus Rapid Transit construction on Kingston Road can move stops with little notice, so check the stop before you set out.
Ajax GO is a station on the Lakeshore East GO line. Drivers park free in the outdoor lot on site.
A separate Casino Shuttle does go to Pickering Casino Resort, 5.1 km off as the crow flies, but you need a reservation.
